Most safety professionals recognize the ABC’s of Safety as representing “Activator, Behavior and Consequence” coined by E. Scott Geller. “Attitude Beyond Compliance” are the new ABC’s of HSE™. Beyond agency standards, governmental regulations, and company policies, the perspective is even broader than the concept of observable behavior-based safety. The focus instead is internal and attitudinal. We believe that the real success of HSE is achieved when each individual’s perspective or “attitude” is “beyond compliance”. After all, most standards, regulations and policies are only minimal standards.
